Hi, everyone!
Let’s keep decorating our house with crocheted things. It is all about cucurbits – patty pans squashes, marrows and pumpkins. It is the same group, did you know?
-> Free crochet pattern: How to make a patty pan squash
Today we are going to make this gorgeous pumpkin!
Even 2 of them! The mix of real and crocheted bright and colorful pumpkins in your house will just make it look wonderful and raise your mood up!
These 2 pumpkins – large and small, are very different. But they have the same crochet pattern, just I used different yarn parameters to make them.

You can follow my yarn recommendations or just grab the yarn from your stash and a crochet hook that has matchable characteristics.

To make a small one (Ø is 13cm)
I use a 4mm or 5mm crochet hook. Yellow part is made of DROPS NEPAL (there are more yarn options in PDF file) 2923 col. (blend: 65% Wool, 35% Alpaca; lenght/weight:75m per 50g); only 30g(45m) in total for 1 small pumpkin. Green part is made of DROPS Karisma 45 col. and 15g(20m) in total.

To make the large pumpkin (Ø is 25cm)
I use a 7mm crochet hook (and 4 or 5 for a stem). The yellow part is made of NAKO Spaghetti yarn (there are more yarn options in PDF file), 941 col. (blend:25% Wool, 75% Acrylic; lenght/weight: 60m per 100g); total for 1 large pumpkin is 100g(60m). To make green stripes, a blossom end and a stem use the yarn in double strand of DROPS Karisma yarn 45 col.+ DROPS NEPAL yarn 7238 col.;  total for 1 large pumpkin is about 20g(30m) in total for 1 pumpkin.

TIPs:
Thinner yarn for the green pumpkins parts makes the pumpkin section look more vivid; two threads of different green shades will make it look more “curvaceous’, realistic and super cozy.

Don’t be afraid to experiment! Take thicker yarn, or two threads together, bigger hook (for ex. 10mm) and your pumpkin will be even bigger than mine! Or make it extra small. Use any yarn you have. Pumpkins are of different kinds, colors and sizes; especially when it comes to creating and decorating. Use the same color that you choose to decorate your house. Experiment. My pattern, pictures and video will help you in this.
