Hello, my dear friends! To knit a doll - it’s always been a dream of mine. I spent a lot of time trying to start it. But there was always a reason (or an excuse) not to finish it. I was never happy with a result, that is why I didn’t feel like showing it to anyone. But I woke up one day, having a complete image of it on my mind, and completed my doll’s face in minutes. And this time I fell in love with her! So, it was a moment of inspiration. The moment when you realize something insightful - And my doll was born ❤
Once a while you ask me what I like the most about toy making – and I think it is assembling and head/ face shaping 😀
When I attach the details together, stuff them, sew the hands/legs on, make doll’s face – it is like carrying a child. I dream about it, imagine what it will look like. This excitement is the most beautiful moment of creating a toy (for me 😀). That is why I almost always go for a flat and seamed method in my patterns. And what about you? Do you like toy’s assembling? Or you prefer knitting it in round?

Hi, Maria! You said, you like to create toy’s faces, and so do I. But I can’t seam well, my seams don’t look neat, straight enough. I use DPN’s pretty well so I know how to knit in round. Is there a change you will make a knit in round doll pattern for the people like me? Would appreciate it a lot!
